TREES
Our first unit study will be on trees. While we won't get to every art project mentioned, this is a brainstorming list of all the ways we plan to incorporate trees into our lessons.
Tree Notebook
Each kid gets a brand new notebook and binder! Binders will have the following sections. Examples: 1. About Trees Life cycle, types of trees, 2. Individual Tree "Portfolios" Each type of tree identified will include a photograph (if possible); a drawing of the tree; answers to a questionnaire prepared as a fill-in-the-blank. Whenever possible, this information will be gathered in-person on our outings. When we see them in person, we will also collect an outline or rubbing of a leaf, a sample of pine needle and seed, etc. We will also note when we observed the tree and where it was located (example: Celebration Park, Federal Way, WA. January 9, 2014.) 3.+ The sections listed below will be assigned tabs |
