I created this website to record our homeschool journey. Because of the nature of homeschooling, it will reflect much more than a set number of hours in a day spent in "school mode."
While others may eventually be invited to view these pages, it was primarily created for the benefit of our family: a journal, project outlines, resources, etc. I am a big believer in portfolios. You won't see a lot of test scores. I am more interested in developing skills than passing tests - at least, at this stage. I want to KNOW that they understand concepts, not just that they can get good grades. We're in the elementary school phase, so life is about grasping concepts. This will likely change and evolve as we move into higher grades. There are four of us in our little family. Charlie and I are the parental units; Katie Rose and Ellie, the spawnlets. |
Charlie grew up in rural Minnesota, where he graduated high school. He holds a BA in Pastoral Ministries from North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I grew up on and near McChord Air Force Base in the Puget Sound area of Washington State and have four years of college education. With the exception of the first half of fifth grade when I attended I private Christian school, I was homeschooled from fourth grade through high school graduation.
